Yogyakarta, Indonesia — Four student entrepreneurship teams from Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU) Jogja have successfully received grant funding through the Student Entrepreneurship Development Program (P2MW) 2025 from the Directorate of Learning and Student Affairs (Belmawa), Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology.
Among the four funded teams, three have achieved another proud milestone by qualifying for the national selection of the Indonesian Student Entrepreneurship (KMI) Expo XVI 2025 — the most prestigious student entrepreneurship competition in Indonesia.
Director of Student Employability & Entrepreneurship at UNU Jogja, Nurhadi, emphasized that this achievement reflects UNU Jogja’s strong commitment to nurturing an entrepreneurial culture rooted in values, creativity, and social impact.
“The four UNU Jogja teams have proven themselves through the P2MW grant program, and now three of them are advancing to KMI Expo XVI to compete with top universities such as Universitas Indonesia (UI), Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), Universitas Negeri Yogyakarta (UNY), Universitas Negeri Malang (UM), and Universitas Jember (UNEJ). This shows that UNU Jogja students are capable of presenting innovative, competitive, and locally grounded ideas,” said Nurhadi.
The three UNU Jogja teams advancing to the national stage are Ngunjuk Degan Kalegan, an innovation that transforms a traditional static coconut cart into a modern mobile beverage business rooted in local culture; Thematic and Cultural Tourism Package in Ngoro-oro Village, a tourism concept combining local wisdom with interactive learning experiences; and Fresh Duck Eggs Directly from Quality Farmers, an innovation offering a hygienic and sustainable food distribution chain that empowers local farmers.
This accomplishment strengthens UNU Jogja’s position as a university committed to producing young entrepreneurs who are excellent and full of integrity. Through the P2MW program and the support of the Directorate of Employability & Entrepreneurship, UNU Jogja continues to build an entrepreneurial learning ecosystem focused on providing real solutions for the community.
Next, the three teams will represent UNU Jogja at the KMI Expo XVI 2025, which will be held on November 19–21, 2025, at Tidar University, Magelang, competing for the KMI Award 2025 alongside hundreds of student innovators from across Indonesia.
“KMI Expo is not only a competition but also a platform for UNU Jogja students to showcase their excellence, collaboration, and social spirit. It proves that UNU Jogja does not only produce graduates but also young entrepreneurs ready to contribute to nation-building,” concluded Nurhadi. [Latifah]
