Seven UNU Jogja Students Join National KIP Kuliah 2025 Training: Strengthening Potential Toward a Bright Future

Yogyakarta, Indonesia – Seven students from Nahdlatul Ulama University (UNU) Jogja, recipients of the Kartu Indonesia Pintar Kuliah (KIPK) scholarship, took part in the 2025 KIP Kuliah Student Development Program organized by the Center for Higher Education Financing and Assessment (PPAPT) under the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research, and Technology (Kemendikti Saintek). The event took place at Grand Mercure Hotel Yogyakarta from October 19 to 20, 2025.

Carrying the theme “Strengthening the Potential of KIP Kuliah Recipients to Achieve Success and a Bright Future,” the program aimed to enhance the capacity, character, and readiness of scholarship recipients to compete in both academic and professional fields.
“Through this program, students are encouraged to understand the importance of developing self-potential, building resilience, and cultivating the spirit to create and contribute toward a better future,” said Indra Ni Tua, Head of PPAPT.

Over the two-day event, around 200 participants from 17 public and private universities in the Yogyakarta Special Region engaged in inspiring and interactive development sessions. The materials covered topics such as personal motivation and self-improvement, career preparation, postgraduate scholarship opportunities, and success stories from KIP Kuliah alumni who have excelled in various professional sectors. Sessions were led by academics, practitioners, and national inspirational figures who provided both motivation and practical guidance for preparing life after graduation.

UNU Jogja was represented by seven ongoing KIP Kuliah recipients from the 2022 cohort, namely: Umi Inayatul Hidayah (Informatics), Hendrik (Electrical Engineering), Nofita Nur Safitri (Primary School Teacher Education), Muhammad Rizki (Primary School Teacher Education), Hisba Cahyani Irawan, Johan, and Sabdalina Izzatul Wildan (Pharmacy).

These students actively participated throughout the event, from registration and opening sessions to the closing ceremony, showing high enthusiasm and engagement.

One of the participants, Nofita Nur Safitri, shared that the program offered her valuable insights and a renewed sense of purpose as a KIP Kuliah awardee.
“We usually focus more on academics, but through this program, I learned that success is not only about grades—it’s also about adaptability, perseverance, and the drive to grow. This scholarship is not just financial aid, but a responsibility to prove that we can succeed and bring benefits to others,” she expressed.

Similarly, Muhammad Rizki highlighted how the event provided him with concrete preparation for life after graduation.
“I feel very fortunate to join this program. It gave me deeper insights into postgraduate scholarship opportunities and helped me become more confident in choosing a career path aligned with my capacity and capabilities,” he said enthusiastically.

Hendrik added that the sessions opened his perspective on responsibility and future opportunities.
“I’m now more confident in designing my career path, and I hope this experience will serve as a valuable foundation to keep growing and contributing positively through my knowledge,” he shared.

Beyond training and knowledge sharing, the event also served as a networking platform for students from diverse regions and academic backgrounds to exchange ideas, learning strategies, and aspirations. The inspiring and empowering atmosphere made this event a meaningful milestone in their academic journey.

The program concluded with motivational messages encouraging KIP Kuliah recipients to continue contributing positively to their communities. Participants were urged to become agents of change, embodying independence, responsibility, and a spirit of meaningful work in society.

Irhas Badruzzaman, Director of Student Affairs at UNU Jogja, expressed hope that KIP Kuliah recipients will grow into independent, high-integrity, and globally competitive young leaders.
“This program proves that government support for education goes beyond financial assistance—it also focuses on character building and capacity development, ensuring that every student can thrive and compete in the global era,” he said.
