Adinda Octa Romandhani Achieves Top 3 Finalist in MES DIY Halal Ambassador 2025, Initiates Halalpreneur Youth Movement

Yogyakarta, Indonesia — Adinda Octa Romandhani, a student of the Management Study Program at UNU Jogja, has been named one of the Top 3 Finalists in the Halal Ambassador competition organized by the Islamic Economic Society (MES) of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) 2025. The annual competition attracted hundreds of participants from across the region.

Dandan Hermawan, General Secretary of MES DIY 2025, stated that the role of halal ambassadors is essential in strengthening the halal ecosystem in Yogyakarta.
“We hope that the halal ambassadors will be able to encourage the development of a strong halal ecosystem in DIY, enabling MSMEs to implement halal products and systems that are competitive on a global scale,” he said.

In the competition, Adinda proposed the Halalpreneur Youth Movement, an initiative aimed at empowering university students to assist MSMEs in obtaining halal certification and improving their digital marketing capacity. The movement is rooted in the concept of the Halalpreneur Generation, which promotes a halal lifestyle starting from campus communities to broader society.

The initiative is carried out through practical training sessions, entrepreneurship mentoring, and educational content dissemination on social media. Adinda seeks to position young people as bridges between knowledge, technology, and Islamic values. She believes that campuses can act as strategic centers for developing agents of change who drive an inclusive and sustainable halal industry ecosystem.

“I see tremendous potential in young people to become pioneers of the halal lifestyle through creative and relevant approaches. Education on halal matters is not only about product quality, but also about moral responsibility toward others and the environment,” she explained.

Adinda also reaffirmed her commitment to contributing to Indonesia’s national vision of becoming a global hub for the halal industry. She believes that collaboration between universities, the government, industry players, and society is key to accelerating this transformation.

“Halal lifestyle is not only about what we consume, but about living with awareness, purpose, and blessings,” she emphasized.

Dean of the Faculty of Economics at UNU Jogja, Diah Retno Wulandaru, expressed her appreciation for Adinda’s achievement. She stated that this accomplishment demonstrates not only Adinda’s personal and intellectual qualities as a management student, but also her contribution to strengthening the halal economic ecosystem in Yogyakarta.
“May this achievement inspire other students to continue excelling and actively contributing to the development of the halal economy in Indonesia,” she concluded. [Latifah]
